Andre holds a Master of Arts in Translation and a BA in English, both from the University of Leipzig. He is an expert in language technology and always strives to make cutting-edge solutions available to our clients. He’s known as a big-picture thinker who trusts his team to handle the nitty-gritty. As of 2021, Andre is also the CEO of Wordbee, the developer of our translation management software. Andre is a self-taught audio engineer who built the entire studio at Wordcraft from scratch. Additionally, he’s a drummer and often develops his best ideas while working on a new beat. He’s a night owl and is known to fall into a wormhole building his own digital empires – he makes the “rail” money as a virtual railroad tycoon.

Julia completed her studies as a Language, Literature and Theatre Scientist at the University of Leipzig. At Wordcraft, she’s making sure our daily business is running efficiently and effectively. She’s also in charge of Corporate Language Training, organizing and planning training courses, and developing training material and pedagogical concepts. Julia is the point of contact for all our language training clients, and manages the entire workflow, from needs consultation and course planning through invoicing. She keeps our feelgood management department running smoothly by doing the important work of interpreting Lotti-isms. Her excellent fashion sense and love of art and theatre perfectly balance out the rest of the Wordcraft nerds, but you’re just as likely to find her at an obscure power metal show.

Jana holds a Master’s in Translation from the University of Leipzig. In our team, she is responsible for all audiovisual translation and localization workflows, including subtitling and voice-over recording, although we’re never sure if she’s working or just watching Netflix. In addition, she is the official German voice of Wordcraft Academy and has been featured in several documentaries for TV and film – you can also hear a sample of her work by calling us since she’s the voice of our telecom system. She’s an excellent writer with a knack for transforming any text into a compelling recording. She reports directly to Lotti (see below) and, as an astronomy enthusiast, spends much of her free time observing the stars.

Jessica graduated magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a dual degree in Special and Elementary Education. In addition to developing and implementing eLearning projects, Jessica also has a hand in planning and organizing courses. She is responsible for all internal technical processes and workflow management within the team. She often supports the translation department with tricky American English questions, and manages all of our Social Media channels. Jessica is the English voice for Wordcraft Academy. She is an expert on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and spends much of her free time introducing the next generation to Star Trek.

Nicole studied ethnology, communication, and media sciences at the University of Leipzig after training as a state-certified international tourism assistant. She is responsible for all stages of translation project management, including Quality Assurance, meaning that she is the primary point of contact for all our translation clients. Also, if you have a question regarding an invoice there’s a good chance she’s going to be able to help you out. Nicole seems to have the power to bend time and space, extending deadlines for suppliers while still meeting client requirements and keeping her candy drawer stocked no matter how often the rest of the team raids it.

After her studies in Comparative Linguistics and Cultural Studies in Napels, she completed an internship at Wordcraft in 2019 and stayed with us as a part-time Translation Project Manager while she’s on her way to obtaining a Master’s degree in Software Localization. Originally, she’s from the Italian Amalfi coast, one of the most beautiful places in the world which is why nobody knows why she switched it for rainy Leipzig.

Sofia is our newest translation project management team member. Growing up in Germany her parents are both originally from Spain. This is why she was virtually immersed in Spanish language and culture while still in the cradle. In addition, she is also fluent in English and French. A graduate of the University of Leipzig in Translation Studies, she supports us part-time managing translation projects while she writes her Master’s thesis in the field of Translation Studies. Besides her natural interest in languages, she enjoys fixing things and creating insanely complicated origami leviathans.

While completing his MA in Specialized Translation (Arabic/German) and Arabic Studies at the University of Leipzig and Ain Shams University, Cairo, Maik became interested in translation workflows, CAT tools and translation project management. At Wordcraft, he used to be responsible for the management of translation projects and the creation of translation workflows but is now focussing on his role in product development at Wordbee, constantly improving and adding new features to our translation management software. In his free time, he is deeply interested in outer space conquest – when he’s not studying the directives of Star Trek, he is mastering his own universe-domination strategies in Stellaris.

Our resident chihuahua makes sure the office runs smoothly and securely. She is an expert in kitchen floor cleaning with an advanced certification in Feel Good Management. She also fills the role of head of security, warning the office staff of potential stranger danger. Lotti is beyond language and has trained the other Wordcrafters, especially Julia, how to communicate for her. She is a passionate foodie without being overly picky and has won numerous competitive noodle-eating contests.
